Your pet’s heart works just like yours, with four chambers and valves pumping blood throughout their body. Some breeds are more prone to heart disease or valve issues as they age. Our team is dedicated to detecting any abnormalities or symptoms that might signal heart disease. If needed, we can schedule an echocardiogram, or heart ultrasound, which can be done in our hospital with the help of the local mobile radiology service. We also offer a blood screening test for heart disease which can detect possible heart disease in patients that may not have a heart murmur. This is especially important in cats who often have heart disease without a heart murmur.
